Why Learn in the Haut-Giffre Valley?
Located just one hour from Geneva airport, in the heart of the Haute Savoie region of France, the Haut-Giffre valley is home to the beautiful villages of Samoëns, Morillon, Verchaix, and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval. Unspoilt by tourism, and with a strong population of friendly local French people, it might just be one of the best places to learn French in the Alps. Take a stroll through the charming villages, dip into the many boutique shops, cafes, boulangeries and have a chat with the locals. It’s the perfect opportunity to take your French to a new level.
Our winter playground should need no introduction, as one of the biggest ski areas in Europe, the Grand Massif offers 139 pistes and over 265km of varied skiing suitable for all abilities. But the area isn’t just about skiing, the valley boasts a variety of non-ski activities such as snowshoeing, parapenting, ice skating and lots more.

Reviews
Very good training center, adapts perfectly to our needs. The course materials are diverse and varied, some exercises to do at home. The classrooms are spacious and very pleasant.
My teacher (Jennifer) quickly made me feel comfortable discussing in English, she gives me confidence, we feel “almost bilingual” from the first session!
I recommend 100%. Don't hesitate to contact them!
Thank you Bonnie and Jennifer
Bonnie was able to understand and document herself to make the training concrete on my theme.
In addition, the school has done the majority of the paperwork to enable the classes to be fully funded through a URSSAF training grant - amazing!
Onto the lessons themselves - I was lucky to have a good teacher and engaged class so I felt I progressed really well. The teacher encouraged interaction and so it felt more like a discussion than too much "chalk and talk". I also did some 1:1s which put me a little out of my comfort zone but allowed me to work on elements I specifically needed. I am now confident that I am working towards the level needed to work in French which was the aim of the sessions. Thank you Alpine French School for your lessons!
