DELF Exam Preparation

Meet Elise & Chloé, French Teachers & Qualified DELF Examiners!

DELF preparation at Avancée

Passing an exam such as the DELF is as much about language readiness as it is about exam awareness.

To make sure you are successful, we’ll do a complete assessment of your level prior to advising you on the right course format. It will include a full mock exam on our e-learning platform. This will give you a great first idea of what to expect.

Group, private or semi-private courses are available for DELF preparation. During your course, you will be given techniques to meet the exam requirements and you’ll learn about what each part of the exam includes and demands. The course is not grammar focused but teachers will share what you need to master to get the points you need. You will also have access to our e-learning platform for general language skills and more DELF practice outside the classroom.

So far, all the students we have prepared have achieved the result they aimed for at the exam. Congrats to all of them!

Please note that we are not a DELF Exam centre – we’re a tiny bit too small for that – but we will provide the information for you to book your exam at the nearest centre.

Pathway to French Residency and Citizenship

If you’re planning to establish your life in France, proficiency in the French language is not only essential for daily interactions but also a legal requirement for residency and citizenship applications. The DELF (Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française) is an official diploma issued by the French Ministry of Education, internationally recognized as proof of French language proficiency.

Language Requirements:

  • French Citizenship: Effective January 1, 2026, applicants need to demonstrate a B2 level of proficiency.
  • Multi-Year Residency Cards (Carte de Séjour Pluriannuelle): Starting January 1, 2026, this requirement is B1 level.
  • 10-Year Residency Cards (Carte de Résident): On January 1, 2026, the level required was increased to B1 level.
  • Article 50 Card Renewals: There is no French language requirement for renewals of the Withdrawal Agreement residency card (commonly referred to as the “Article 50” card).

Achieving the required DELF certification not only fulfills legal obligations but also enhances your integration into French society. It opens doors to employment opportunities, educational pursuits, and enriches your cultural experiences in France.
